It's been months since I last updated this page (also the
others but that's another story)... Some things have changed in my
life. 1st of all my job: I am a resident in Ophthalmology for almost 4
months and I just LOVE it! I'm absorbing knowledge as a sponge and I
feel tired all the time being 9 times/month on duty but I don't care.
People at my department are excellent and we have a friendly (apart
from just professional) relationship. And working hard makes time pass
so quickly that I haven't realized how fast time passes. The other big
change is that I moved to Linux! I'm running Ubuntu
on my PC and I can say that I can do the same staff I did with my Windows machine. My
dated PC is running smoother and I'm very pleased with the whole thing.
Full conversion has been painlessly completed in 2 months. If you have
the chance to try Ubuntu (they provide a Live CD) don't let it run
away, you'll be impressed!
I wanted to publish some pictures in this update but I'm
tired, I believe I'll do this some time soon. In the meanwhile and if
you have already an account with Facebook, you can find me there. Just
search for me!
Happy New Year everyone! Let's hope that 2008 brings happiness, piece and love to everyone as some wisdom to the our governors... I am a citizen of Ioannina now. It's a lovely small city. I'm here for almost 1 month. I found a nice house close to the hospital and these days I took the chance to make some excursions to some nearby destinations. I'll upload some pictures I took soon, since for the moment I have no DSL line at home. I start working at the hospital tomorrow, I can't wait for it!
Strange day today... The insurance of my bike has expired. And since I'm about to sell 'her' I just called the insurance company telling them that I don't want to renew it. So, officially, I am a non-biker :-(. Hell, I don't like it. In Ioannina I'll take the family car, a 2000 1.6 Opel Vectra. Not the car I've always wanted but it's free so I don't complain. These days I've worked a bit on the site making minor changes to the layout and adding some pictures. I hope I'll add some more before moving to Ioannina in 2 weeks. The papers from Ministry of Health haven't arrived yet but I want to find an apartment and have everything prepared before I start working. I believe that my residency will start just before Xmas. We'll see...
An old friend mailed me some days ago telling me that it would be nice to have a part of my site dedicated to the changes in my life. A kind of blog. This way she and my other friends can learn how I am and what I'm doing. So, I'll give it a try and we'll see what happens. For the moment I'm working on the layout of the site (you may have noticed the changes) therefore the content may wait for a couple of days. I'll come back soon for the updates of my last -strange- years.
