Who I am 
Hey!
To be here you must be a friend of mine so you know exactly who I am, in case you are not, here is some info about me:
I'm Yannis and I was born on the beautiful island of Crete in southern Hellas in May 1973 (I'm getting old...).
After high school I moved to Bologna, Italy for some years and I graduated in the Faculty of Medicine. I've done a part of my residency in Ophthalmology in Ioannina in the north-western Hellas and right now (2010) I'm having my "rural medicine" year in some villages of the region of Epirus.
During my 'Italian experience' I did a lot of things except just studying! :-)
I've been one of the students' representatives at the Council of the Faculty of Medicine and I've been the Webmaster of SISM (Segretariato Italiano Studenti di Medicina), the Italian medical students' association. I also had some voluntary service on an ambulance for 1,5 years.
I like very much getting to know people. Thanks to SISM I have friends all around the planet, Europe, Asia, Australia, south and north America.
I like motorcycles a lot. I have dedicated a part of this site to my past and present motorcycles.
What I DON'T like? Hmm, let's see...
- Well, I don't like soccer (almost everyone in Europe likes soccer, especially in Italy; in any case I'm very glad that Hellas won the European Cup in 2004:-)).
- I don't like being with somebody for need and not for love.
- I don't like bureaucracy and I don't like people stepping on other people's heads to climb up.
- I don't like rain, I like warm climates with a lot of sun.
- I don't like mines.
- I don't like airplanes falling into towers. As I don't like crimes against humanity in the name of 'Freedom' and 'Justice'. I don't like ultimatums like 'You are either with us or against us and in this case you will be bombed'.
- I don't like wars and I believe that all people are just PEOPLE and not white, black or yellow people. Cultural differences should exist since they add variety but they shouldn't be the cause of racial discrimination.
- I don't like people (and even more presidents) saying that a war is NOT made because of economic reasons but for the good of the mankind! And I truly believe that human blood is much more precious than oil...
Well, now you know some things about me. But of course nobody can tell that he knows somebody until he meets him in person. In my life I've learned that this planet is very small, so I wouldn't be surprised if one day someone would stop me on the road and tell me 'hey, aren't you the Hellenic guy with that beautiful home page?'
